The Industrial Engineering General Shop is available for use by faculty, staff, and students working on academic and research projects. It is located on the ground floor of the Zachry Building, Room 40. Hours of operation are from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. Regulations & Guidelines |

Equipment: The shop has both sheet metal and woodworking capabilities. It has two milling machines, each equipped with digital read-outs for increased efficiency and accuracy. Three lathes are maintained in the shop, ranging from 10" to 16". Please note that specialized training is REQUIRED before staff and students are allowed to operate the mills or lathes. The training is the responsibility of the project supervisor. A written statement from the supervisor documenting the date and time of training will be required before the equipment can be used. |

Other tools available in the shop include a tig welder, cutting torches, drill presses, a sheet metal bender, a sheet metal cutter, a wood table saw, stand grinders and band saws. An assortment of hand tools is also available for use in the shop, or for check-out |

Also available for check-out is a 2 ton engine hoist and a pallet jack. All check-out items are for project use ONLY. No hobby work is allowed. |

| Safety : Safety is the top priority in the shop at all times and the posted rules and regulations will be enforced. Before users are granted access to the shop, an online safety exam must be completed and a copy given to the shop supervisor. Ask shop supervisor for details. Glasses/goggles are REQUIRED while in the shop General Safety Regulations |
