ISE - Mac Support - Mac to Windows Server Share Support (OS X 10.5 - Leopard)
This page describes the procedure to connect to the ISE file share servers. If you are not sure what share name you need to connect to, contact Mark Henry. If you are connecting wirelessly on campus, the assumption is made that you have established a WPA link - right? If you are connecting from anywhere off-campus, the assumptions is made that your are using the TAMU VPN client available from CIS.
1. Open 'System Preferences' and click 'Network'.

2. If connecting wirelessly, select 'AirPort' on the right. Alternatively, if you connect with an Ethernet cable, select 'Ethernet'. (Please make sure the lock in the lower left corner is in an unlocked state when preparing to modify these settings. You may lock it again after modifications are complete.
3. Click the 'Advanced' button when ready to proceed.

4. Click on 'WINS' to modify the Workgroup and WINS Servers sections as shown below.
5. Click 'OK' when finished and then 'Apply' on the following screen (remember to lock that screen first!).

6. From the 'Finder' bar, select 'Go' and then select 'Connect to Server'.
7. In the 'Server Address" field, enter the path of the share that you desire. It should be in the format of smb://servername/sharename
8. Click 'Connect'.

9. You will now need to enter your username (IE\username) and password. Click 'Connect' to continue.

You should now see the contents of your shared drive! If you are having problems, just email Mark Henry or call 862-3452 for help.
