Dr. Garcia-Diaz's areas of teaching and research include network optimization, design and analysis of industrial experiments, facilities planning and decision-support methodologies in transportation planning. He has been principal investigator in a variety of applied optimization projects related to pavement and bridge management systems, utilization of private and government resources in highway engineering, and cost allocation strategies for transportation facilities. Dr. Garcia-Diaz has conducted international seminars in the areas of salary administration and network analysis. He is the author or co-author of a number of technical publications including two textbooks in the fields of networks and design of experiments. Dr. Garcia is a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
