Dr. Koppa's research until his retirement in 2001 centered on transportation system human factors. His major research interest was the design and evaluation of automotive adaptive devices for disabled drivers. He taught graduate courses in human information processing, human-machine system development and evaluation, manual control, and documentation as a user-machine interface. In retirement Dr. Koppa continues to teach a senior undergraduate course in his field, serves on the Graduate Faculty, and is a team advisor on capstone design courses both in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Koppa is a Fellow of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and a member of SAE.
